I Am Not Thankful For Homeless Drunks & Druggies

This season is known as the time for giving and many people are in better moods and are more generous. I had to do a little bit of last minute thanksgiving shopping last night at a grocery store and gave a homeless guy a $5 bill, I did my shopping and got in line to pay and saw him in line in front of me.

When your an alcoholic for many years, its really hard to stop obviously. Many experts consider addiction a disease, so why would you single them out negatively? Would you do that to cancer patients who are homeless but don’t do drugs? Just a question, but I respect your opinions.

I’m not singling him out negatively. Like you said, it’s only my opinion. Of course I cannot understand his situation without knowing him. For all I know he could be a veteran who fought for us. My point (as a non drinker) is that there are certain thing that ought to be cutoff when you are homeless. Think about all the people who are in homes that they can’t afford.
